FKK HQ solar panel roofing work has begun
Starting our environmental project, FKK vision 2030, the installation of PV solar panel on the roof of FKK Corporation headquarter in Kyoto city just begining.
The roof will soon accommodate more than 115.5kWh DC/104.5kWh AC of Canadian Solar photovoltaic panels on the maximum usable surface to cover the maximum energy requirement of our production. The photovoltaic panel system should cover more than 85% of the plant's energy needs during the day and on average more than 60% of the total consumption (day and night).
To fight global warming and in order to promote a low carbon society, we intend to reach 100% of low carbon energy sourcing before 2030. In order to achieve this goal, we will put additional solar PV and battery storage system in the near future.
After the installation of this PV system, we will progressively switch our fleet of company cars to electric vehicles to be able to charge them from solar on weekend when the plant is not running and using battery as V2H system for back-up storage of energy, making our plant more resilient.
As electricity consumption is the main source of our CO2 emission we are doing the maximum to quickly pivot our production to low carbon production. We will keep our customers update on our decarbonization progress.
