1 day 1 igniter: day 2 - PSx-2
In a new series of post we are treating each day 1 model of ceramic igniter. The advantage of each design and how to use it.
On day 2 we will present you the PSx-2 alumina ceramic igniter model. This model has been specificaly been developed for the ignition of wood pellet, wood chips or other biomass combustible in pellet stove or pellet boiler appliances.
History and development
PSx-2 alumina ceramic igniter was developped in year 2012 to answer to the requirement of a famous pellet boiler mnaufacturer to improve the reliability and performance of its appliances. It has been developped in close colaboration with most experienced pellet boiler engineers and designers, so it is perfectly adapated to wood pellet and wood chips ignition. The design take advantage of the high temperature of the igniter surface but also internal tube heat. In this way it can achieve very fast ignition.
Since beginning we have refined the design several time, to get the shape that we have today.
Today this model is widely use in many pellet stove, pellet boiler, pellet burner and also pellet smoker grills BBQ over the world.
Advantages
- Designed specificaly for pellet/biomass ignition
- The shape of ceramic bushing make it is easy to install in tube of Ø18mm
- The igniter can be slided and adjust at desired distance from burner pot
- Air can go through the tube to increase ignition speed and radiant effect
- Powerful 300W heating element: can ignite all kind of biomass and even humid pellet = no ignition failure
Application of use
- Wood Pellet stove
- Wood pellet boiler
- Wood pellet burner
- Wood pellet BBQ / smoker
- Wood chips boiler
- Biomass combi boiler (dual pellet/wood)
